From a tired living room to a sunlit retreat, grounded in natural textures and deep green.

An illustrative renovation concept
Room for the outdoors
An overlooked courtyard becomes an intimate outdoor room, centred on an olive tree.

01
The starting point
Worn paving and scattered furnishings leave the courtyard without a clear purpose. Its mature olive tree and enclosing walls offer a beautiful starting point.
02
The design approach
Work with the existing enclosure and tree. Bring the ground plane together with limestone tones and create a comfortable outdoor sitting room.
03
The details that matter
Low seating keeps the space open. Mediterranean planting, tactile pots and subtle lighting make the courtyard a natural extension of home.
Look a little closer
The transformation, side by side.
The olive tree and walls stay in place; new paving, planting and seating give the courtyard purpose.
